Kru Jim Burns

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Kru Jim Burns is Director of coaching and senior instructor with over 35 years experience within martial arts, Jim’s qualifications include; black belt full contact karate, 10th khan Muay Thai boxing, professional boxing trainer, Black belt 2nd Dan (BCA), Muay Thai Judge and referee and is affiliated to several governing bodies: British Boxing Board of Control, British Thai Boxing Council and the British Combat Association, Jim is the ex-boxing editor of Martial Arts Illustrated and is a published writer having written the ground breaking training manual; ‘The Art of Boxing’ published by JA Tech publications 1998. 

There is a world of difference between sparring in the gym and fighting ‘for real’ out there on the street, Jim spent six years working as a night club doorman and as such knows how important hard training and discipline is. That said Jim’s style of coaching is relaxed and informative whilst adhering to the codes, ethics and traditions of eastern martial arts. With many years of coaching experience, Jim is able to impart his vast wealth of knowledge with great skill.

Al Peasland

 

The UK AMA is fortunate to have Al Peasland as an instructor and self protection adviser. Al has amassed many skills within the world of martial arts and brings a vast array of knowledge to the academy

Al has over 20 years reality based martial arts training coupled with many years experience as a nightclub doorman in Coventry. Al is also a qualified NLP practitioner who works part time in the Formula 1 industry.

His company, Complete Self Protection, not only offers training in self defense techniques and concepts, enabling us to protect ourselves from the violent society we live in; it goes further to enable us to protect our inner selves by understanding more about who we are.  

Al is a published writer having penned the training manual; ‘Fence concepts’ The Fence is a well recognized name for the techniques used to control the time and space between engaging with a potential attacker and ending the conflict either with physical or psychological pre-emption.
